For the past couple of years, Zo from “So, Zo what do you know?” has coordinated an online effort to “encourage people who sew/knit/crochet/refashion/upcycle garments for themselves to actually wear and love them.” This year I decided to join!
I, Caitlin, sign up as a participant of Me-Made-May ’14. I endeavour to wear two items of me-made clothing each week for the duration of May 2014.
Since I just started sewing, I definitely don’t have 30 items of clothing that I have made. So, I altered my pledge to twice a week! You can check out the full description on her blog. I do like how she notes that MMM isn’t about taking pictures of your outfits everyday, a time to panic sew/knit/etc, and it especially is not a competition. It’s about integrating self made items into daily life! This is particularly appropriate as I’m aiming to make more everyday items (though I can’t resist a fabulous dressy dress!). Is anyone else participating? Even if you don’t sign up on her blog, I’d love to see pictures of clothing items you’ve made for yourself, friends or family!
