My 1st Posted Project: The Green and Black Alma

Well, here it is, folks! My first posted project. I’ve been doing a lot of sewing this past week because it’s spring break, and this blouse is one of the fruits of my labor. I used the Alma Blouse pattern by Sewaholic Patterns. One of the things that I love is the Peter Pan collar, but I also love the three different sleeve choices and the three different collar choices. I made a muslin in quilting cotton of the view B, and decided to repeat it with a lovely green and black floral rayon from Hart’s Fabrics.

The only alterations I made were to lengthen the blouse a little bit and to take out the front darts. The fabric feels really nice against my skin, and I felt a flowy look would be more appropriate for this particular fabric. I did love the more tailored look of my quilting cotton muslin, so next time I make this pattern, I think I’ll do the cap sleeve and notched neckline version in a stiff, brocade fabric!
